Polling stations will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, October 24th. All polls are accessible by wheelchair and stroller. If you have severe restrictions, you may qualify for the mobile polls.
There are 30 polling locations throughout Regina. Residents will receive a voter information card that includes their polling location, ward, and school subdivision. Watch for this card in your mail the week of September 24.
Mobile polls are provided for those who are unable to attend a regular or advanced poll due to physical disability or whose mobility is limited or severely restricted. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must submit an application to the Election Officer by 4:30 p.m. on October 3, 2012.
For Non-resident Land Owners:
If I own property in Regina, but reside in another location (i.e. Lumsden), can I vote?
- Yes, you are able to vote. You will vote at the polling station where the property is located in Regina. You are only eligible to vote for Mayor and Councillor. You are not eligible to vote for school board as you must be a resident of the school subdivision.
- A voter who is the owner of assessable land in more than one ward in a municipality in which he/she does not reside is eligible to vote only in one ward in which the total assessment of his land is highest.
- A voter shall obtain a certificate from the municipal assessor indicating in which ward he/she is eligible to vote and shall present the certificate to the deputy returning officer when he/she attends the polling station to vote.
